VIVERE Photography is a photography business owned and run by husband & Wife team, Phillip & Hannalize Olivier along with their friend Carl Pohl.

  

Both Phillip and Carl are qualified Zoologists and the interest in photography started from a love of nature and taking photographs during Zoological studies.  Hannalize is a qualified teacher and loves taking photos of families, kids and couples in love.



Phillip has always loved Photography, he grew up with a graphic design studio in the house and his father ran one of the first large format printing companies in Bloemfontein. He started at a very young age with a film point and shoot and quickly moved on to take over his father's flim Pentax SLR, next up was the 2.8 megapixel (jip that's right, once upon a time camers had less pixels than a smartphone) Sony camera, and has not looked back since.  Phillip trained at the Gert Lamprecht School of Photography, Currently Phillip is Canon shooter and great Apple fanboy.  Carl and Hannalize trained by doing various short courses and workshops and thus cultivating their love of taking photos.  Carl currently has a Nikon DSLR in his bag (he just had to be different).

 

Coming from a background of shooting a lot of wildlife and nature photo's we would describe our style as mostly photojournalistic (big word mainly meaning we prefer to capture the moments rather than stiff poses) with a generous sprinkling of artistic photography (not those weird things that no one can figure out what they are) using interesting angles, focus and lighting.  And then we do have a spot of the traditional formal photography in us as well.  All in all a good mix for getting great photos.  



We are based in Bloemfontein and provide photographic services wherever needed.
